al-ilm publishing

The attainment of ‘ilm (knowledge), is obligatory upon all muslims, may it be the sciences of theology, philosophy, law, ethics, politics or any other wisdom imparted to mankind from God through the blessings of his last Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H).

Our aim is to help spread information and knowledge about Islam by publishing the writings of islamic scholars and ulemas in book form internationally.

The themes of the essays in this book relate to discussions and debates prevalent in society, but from the viewpoint of the Quran, Hadith and religious scholarship. They differentiate between the habits of tradition and the absolute framework spelt out by the Quran, which for Muslims will always remain the ultimate touchstone in every era for guidance. The sections, including Spiritual & Religious Concepts, Jurisprudence and Social Questions, Historical Documents and Sermons of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), Specific Questions of Gender, and The Prophets and Role Models of the Quran, cover a wide range of topics. Revisiting these subjects was the need of the hour. The author looks at contemporary issues through a faith perspective, tapping into the burning issues that Muslims and non-Muslims ask questions about today, including those related to as terrorism and women’s issues. Works such as this addresses traditional Islamic scholarship as well as modernity, aspiring to define a balanced middle path enjoined by Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and the Quran (2: 143).
